Getting started
Is eAML actually free, or is that a trial?
Compliance Starter is $30/month flat, unlimited cases, no trial cap and no onboarding fee, for as long as you use it — it's the whole platform, not a crippled version of it. The only per-use charges are the identity ($6) and company ($0 markup, ASIC's own $10 fee direct) checks you're legally required to run, billed to the client being screened, not to you.
Do I need a credit card to sign up?
No — create an account and start a case straight away. Billing details are only needed once you're ready to run a paid check.
How long does setup actually take?
Minutes to create your first case. A complete AML/CTF program also involves one-off setup — enrolling with AUSTRAC, appointing your compliance officer and senior manager, and completing personnel due diligence — all tracked inside the platform, with the in-app Compliance Playbook walking through each step in order.
Coverage & compliance
Which industries does this actually cover?
Real estate, accounting, legal profession, conveyancing and jewellers — all five Tranche 2 domains, each with its own AUSTRAC-sourced risk factors and compliance-form catalogue, live today. See Industries for detail on each.
Does eAML replace my legal obligation to have an AML/CTF program?
No. eAML runs the CDD, screening and record-keeping processes your program requires, but you're still the reporting entity — enrolling with AUSTRAC, appointing your own governance roles, and holding overall accountability are yours, same as with any software vendor. This isn't legal advice; talk to a qualified adviser about your specific obligations.
What if I already have a paper-based process?
AUSTRAC explicitly permits a manual, paper-based AML/CTF program — eAML doesn't replace that legal option, it removes the reason to keep doing it by hand: the same case management, CDD and screening, at a lower cost than the paper trail takes in your own time, with a defensible audit trail built in.
Is my client data secure?
Every check, document and override is retained to the regulator's own seven-year standard, and identity documents are held only for the CDD purposes AUSTRAC requires. If you have specific security or data-residency questions, get in touch directly.
Pricing & billing
Who actually pays for the $6 identity check?
The client being screened pays at the point of the check — not your business. The check doesn't run until that payment clears, so there's no invoice for you to chase and no balance for you to manage.
What's the difference between Compliance Starter and Managed Compliance?
Compliance Starter is software you run yourself. Managed Compliance is a staffed service — send us the case, and one of our AML specialists handles CDD, screening and document review end to end. Your AML Officer and Senior Officer don't do the casework; they review the completed, evidence-backed file and approve it. See Managed Compliance pricing.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes — move between Starter, Managed Compliance and Professional as your practice's needs change. Get in touch to talk through the right fit.
